Internal Audit Controls flaunted

If any of your relatives have suffered in pain in Australia waiting for the hospital to put them on a list - you might be interested in where the money goes that does not go to the patients who need it.
Nurses and overtime is a good one. They take sickies and get their mates to work a double shift with no meal break. Funny how this happens on a Saturday or Sunday and attracted TRIPPLE time. Yes, real heroes that bunch. Effectively, they were stealing from patients who need help.

And what do these heroes of internal audit do with their day over here? The internal auditor at one hospital just went from the front door, where he smoked, to the back door, where he smoked. Between the smell of smoke and alchohol, he did not get much auditing done. And when he did, if it looked like his mates were implicated, he 'fixed it up' behind the scenes. Things were happening right under his nose but he could not see for the fumes from cigarettes and booze.

A Head Cleaner at one organisation used to get the staff to go to his home and farm and get them working there for a day or so. He billed their wages out to the hospital. This is Ghosting of wages in a new form. This went on for years and the female manager tried to stop it, but being a male dominated health service (most are in Australia) it was corrupt and picked on her instead. Finally they acted but her health was shot and they took no legal action against the man. After all, they would not want to publish to the people in the area that this was going on right under their noses.

They then promote and protect their mates and it is 'closed shop' for corrupted health officials in Australia, as demonstrated by the Dr. Death farce in Queensland. They gave him an employee award. Laugh a minute in Australia. Laugh or cry.
